We generally do not fund grants for the following:
- For Profit Organizations
- Grants to Individuals unless affiliated with a not for profit 501(c)3 or 501(c)6.
- Requests that fall under a capital budget
- Normal Operating Expenses
- Indirect Costs associated with a project
- Scholarships
- Travel expenses
Answers to Your Questions
On The Podiatry Foundation website, you can access the grant portal at any time. You will need a username (your email address) and password if you are a new applicant. To access the online application portal, click here.
Please apply for your project at least 3 months in advance to allow enough time for the application process and review. For more information on Grant Application Timing, click here.
Research Support Program: For any type of conducted research project with an assigned principal investigator and proposed hypothesis.
Educational Support Program: For any type of educational project that would be utilized at a university, podiatry school, classroom, or lab. This program can also be used for any innovative educational outreach, advanced technology applications such as virtual reality, etc., as well as educational medical mission trips.
Clinical Support: For any project that would be used exclusively in a clinical setting (non-classroom) including involving patients.
Continuing Medical Education Support: For any program that provides Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses and lectures for physicians, residents, students, and assistants.
Event Support: For any project that relates solely to an event (such as recurring social fundraising events, galas, races, walks, or executive leadership development sessions).

The grant portal normally is open any time. There is no deadline for submitting a grant, however we ask that you complete the application process within 60 days to avoid possible cancellation of your application and to remain fair to other applicants. Around our fiscal year end of June 30th, there may be a short period when the portal is down.

Please allow up to 10 business days for your Letter of Intent to be reviewed. Please allow up to 15 business days for your full application to be reviewed. Please note that in some instances, your application may take longer to review. You will be contacted via email if more information is needed to clarify information on your application.
We do not set a limit on the number of times you may apply.
Yes, you can.
Yes, each application is considered separate and on its own merit.
Grants are generally made for one year. Grants will not normally exceed two years.
Yes. The reporting requirements for your project will be built into the award letter. For more information on Required Grant Reporting, click here.
The funding disbursements vary from project to project. The funding schedule will be built into the award letter and coincide with the reporting and established milestones for the grant.
You must notify the executive director in writing of any budget re-allocations or extensions needed on a project. For more information on Required Grant Reporting, click here.
